Make An Appointment?
To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday)
- Phone us Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 6.30pm
- Visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist. We are open Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 6.30pm
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with. We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable health professional to help you.
The practice operates an appointment surgery in the morning. Patients can ring in between 8.00am to 6.30pm when they will be given an appointment to see the doctor within 48 hours. Four doctors are available on most mornings. You may consult with any of the doctors at the practice. However, if you want to see a particular doctor and that particular doctor is not available on that day, you are welcome to see any doctor on that day and then make an appointment to see the doctor of your choice. Please be considerate; everybody cannot be seen every day. Please do not come every week; give a chance to other patients who may need to see the doctor more than you. Help us to provide a high quality service, which we strive for.
NB: During booking, our receptionists may ask for a brief reason for the appointment - this is simply to allow clinicians to prioritise appointments based on urgency and to help you best that we can. However, if you have a preferred Clinician you'd like to see/speak to please feel free to request and if available or appropriate, it will be offered. We may then offer you a consultation By phone, Face to face at the surgery, On a video call or By text or email
Appointments for the nurses for different clinics can be made by telephoning 0121 328 1977 or by calling at the surgery.
Routine Appointments
Routine appointments may be made well in advance up to a maximum of two months, which will enable us to offer you an appointment at a time more suitable to your requirements.
Emergency Appointments
If you or a member of your family is suffering from a serious problem such as severe chest pain or severe bleeding call an ambulance (tel: 999) before calling the surgery.
If you or members of your family are suffering with an illness that require treatment the same day, please telephone the surgery and we will try to accommodate you.
Telephone Advice
If you would like to have a telephone consultation, please leave your name, address, telephone number as well as the reason for the consultation in as much detail as possible with the reception staff. The doctor will ring you at the end of surgery and assess the patient’s condition over the telephone. The result will likely be one of the following:
- Advice will be given over the phone eliminating the need for a face-to-face consultation.
- Arrangements will be made for a prescription to be ready to collect from reception later on that day.
- If it is considered urgent a face-to-face appointment for sometime that day will be arranged.
Evening and weekend appointments
We offer our patients extended access appointments at evenings and weekends. These are available at our local SDS MyHealthcare Hubs. To book an extended access appointment, please speak to one of our receptionists.
More information here.
Text Reminders
Please ensure that you give us your up to date mobile telephone number and we can send you free text reminders of any future appointments at the surgery. Please advise us if you do not wish to receive text reminders.
Late Arrivals
If you arrive ten or more minutes late for your appointment, without letting us know in advance that you are delayed, you will not be seen and will have to rebook your appointment.
Cancellations
We would appreciate if you could let us know as soon as possible by phoning 0121 328 1977 if you need to cancel an appointment with any member of staff. This allows us to offer your appointment slot to another patient.
Non-Attendance
Patients who fail repeatedly to attend three appointments with the doctor or nurse, without any reason, will be invited to a meeting with the partners.
If you need help when we are closed
- Use NHS 111 online (111.nhs.uk) or call 111. 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Home Visits
Patients are requested to telephone the surgery before 10.00am if a visit is required on that day. Emergency visits only will be arranged after that time. Please give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctor to allocate priority to house calls. Please remember that several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time it takes to do on home visit and that clinical examination is best carried out at the surgery.
Please also note a home visit will be made if a doctor feels that you are not well enough to attend the surgery. The final decision rests with the doctor.
