Antenatal
Thursday 9.30am to 1.00pm
If you find that your pregnancy test is positive, please inform the receptionist. She will then send the referral to the midwife who will arrange an appointment for you in the antenatal clinic and will inform you via a letter.
Patients are then seen by the midwife at the clinic and a doctor is present in the surgery during this clinic. The midwife will support and advise you as well as monitor you and your baby's progress. You will also be referred to a local hospital of your choice where you will be seen by a midwife and may be seen by one of the hospital doctors as well. Once your baby is born, the midwife will call to see you giving continual care, support and advice. The doctors, at six weeks, carry out postnatal checks at the surgery. Please make an appointment for this check. The health visitor will also call after about 10 days to provide support and information about your new baby.
