Evening and weekend appointments now available
Along with our usual opening hours, we offer our patients extended access appointments at evenings and weekends. These are available at our local SDS MyHealthcare Hubs. To book an extended access appointment, please speak to one of our receptionists.

Reception staff are available in between the surgery hours in person and by telephone from 9.00am to 12.00pm to take prescription orders, book appointments and take messages. Doctors or nurses may not be available in between those hours. Our experienced reception staff will advise you of the appropriate action to take.
There is a red prescription box allocated in the reception waiting area. Please use the right side of your repeat prescription form and drop it in the box. The notice required for a repeat prescription is 48 hours and can only be collected between 9.00am and 12.00pm.
Please note the surgery will be closed on all recognised bank holidays.
Out of Hours
If you require medical attention when the surgery is closed please telephone the NHS 111 Service on 111.
In the event of a life threatening emergency call 999.
A&E Not Anything & Everything
Please think about the other options that are available to you before attending a Hospital A & E department as this is intended for Accidents and Emergencies and should not be used for minor ailments or conditions. Please note that patients with tight chest pains lasting for more than 15 minutes should dial 999.
Phone the surgery first on 0121 328 1977 where a member of staff will be able to assist you or if the surgery is closed, your call will be automatically transferred to our out of hours doctors service at no extra charge.
Please note that the surgery phone line is open all day and does not close at lunchtime.

Phone 111 for conditions that do not require attendance at a hospital Accident or emergency department but cannot wait until the surgery next opens - there is no charge for phoning 111 however you do need at least 1p credit on your mobile phone. This service offers locally based out of hours advice and treatment and you will not be required to wait for a call back. Your call will be handled straightaway by a trained operator.

Consider Visiting a Pharmacist
There are a number of pharmacies near the surgery that can provide advice and issue medication which is available on prescription (free to you if you do not pay for your prescriptions or at the usual cost of a prescription if you pay). This scheme is called Pharmacy First and will mean that you do not need to book a doctor or a nurse appointment with us which will save you a lot of time. Please note that you will be asked to provide your NHS number.

Need A Dentist Urgently?
If you need a Dentist in the evening, on weekends or Bank Holidays, call NHS 111 on 111.
Patients who cannot be seen by their family dentist and who meet the criteria for urgent out of hours care will be given a telephone number by NHS 111 to phone to book an evening or weekend appointment.
